  • Specialized Turbo ...

Description

Leave it to Specialized to create a high-end, urban e-bike with the ultimate speed, performance, and style. The Turbo's smooth, powerful motor lets it own the road and erases that monster hill that you sometimes steer clear of. The Turbo packs sleek, sturdy aluminum frame, responsive aluminum fork, and a 10-speed SRAM drivetrain with a SRAM X7 derailleur for rapid shifting and a fluid power assist. Formula’s awesome C1 hydraulic disc brakes quickly scrub speed and use regenerative braking technology to top off the battery’s power level. And, you'll enjoy excellent stability and confident tracking at any speed thanks to stiff, sturdy thru-axle wheels. Make no mistake: the Turbo is not your neighbor’s e-bike!

Where did all the hills go?

Pros:
Lots Of Pop, Fun, Good Flexibility, Fast
Cons:
Heavy
Best Uses:
Park, Speed
I'm 60 years old and a recreational rider. This bike has changed my riding habits. Before, I used to ride five to 10 miles three times a week. Now, my ride is around 15 miles whenever I have a free day. The majority of my ride is in Eco mode, which means I'm getting 30% assist on my pedaling. In my mind, it makes the bike weigh about 20 pounds and reduces any headwind by 30%. If you want to put a big grin on your face, turn on turbo and ride as fast as you can. I guarantee feeling the big boost in pedal assist will put a smile on your face. One time, I didn't know there was a road biker behind me and I turned on turbo zipped up to 23 MPH (bike can do 28 MPH) and got the strangest look when I stopped and he rode by me. I'll use turbo mode when I approach any hill or pedestrian overpass and actually speed up going up hill! Turbo mode also helps when my legs are getting tired and I want to get home a little quicker.
