Wahoo Fitness KICKR SNAP Bike Trainer

When the skies open and conspire to spit on a solid day of training, you can sit back and smile—because you're prepared with Wahoo's KICKR SNAP Bike Trainer. It was tucked tidily away in the closet with the clean sheets, just waiting for you. The SNAP keeps you in tune with ANT+ and BLE capabilities so you'll be dialed into smartphones and GPS devices simultaneously or separately.
When you're cranking out the watts, the SNAP's super-stable carbon steel frame will not be moved. Your power is clocked at +/- 5% accuracy, so you'd better be sweating if you want those bragging rights. With a road feel this realistic, and access to more third party apps than any other trainer, you might even forget the great outdoors tried to soak you.

Almost impossible to get correct spindown value

By Olegeorg

from Tromsø, Norway

About Me

Comments:

Had this snap for a week, one in about 100 advanced spindowns has provided me with a correct brake value (in my case 3,1). The normal value I get is 1,58 which gives a power reading half of my stages values. I could use it if I double my FTP in zwift. The one time I actually got a correct brake value from the spindown it workes perfectly. If it could just give the correct value I would rate it 5 stars. I've tried advanced spindown in wahoo utility and wahoo fitness for both android and iPhone. I've tried it with and without warmup (10-60 minutes)

Great Trainer

By obrother

from Logan, UT, United States

About Me

Comments:

I got this last month and have used it 3-4 times. It gives you a great workout and is not very loud. I did buy a trainer specific tire and I think that has helped. It is nice to ride inside and watch something on the TV streamed from my phone at the same time. I question the speed accuracy as I can not maintain over 18 mph for over 10 minutes as it is so hard but I think the power output is quite accurate and overall provides an excellent workout. I did buy a phone holder that mounts to my handlebars so I could see my workout easy and flip through what I wanted to watch. I did buy the Kickr trainer mat as well and it looks to be well made and looks good. Last I set up a fan to blow on me during my workout and I am set- my own gym at home but maybe better.

Very nice but needs a firmware fix!

About Me

Comments:

Just had my first Sufferfest rides on the new Snap! Very pleased with low noise, smooth action and iOS app. Perfect Sufferfest integration. However the frequent ghost-braking grabs rob 20-30 watts per instance. C'mon gang, get us an update that sorts this issue and it'll be perfect.

About Me

Comments:

I received this as a Christmas gift, and have used it everyday since then. I have put (according to zwift) about 80 miles on it so far. It's tough, no doubt about it.

Try it! Totally Worth the $!

By N Griesert

About Me

Comments:

I just turned 40 and have two awesome small children who I love to spend time with. Unfortunately riding just wasn't happening due to a lack of time and daylight hours. I heard about Smart trainers and Zwift. When I did my research I found the Wahoo KICKR Snap and after comparing it to many other trainers of the same type decided to shell out what seemed like a lot of cash to get "virtually" riding again. I have now been training for 7 weeks consistantly 5 days a week for a solid, intense, enjoyable hour each morning on Zwift. The $600 start-up cost was totally worth it. The SNAP is super easy to use. It just works. It's quiet, and I haven't had any problems with wheel slip. I just gave the knob two good twists against the tire like the directions said and it works great! After recently going on my first mountain bike ride in a LONG time with some buddies I felt incredibly strong in the "real" world. The virtual riding and training with workouts has opened my eyes to how good of a workout and experience Smart trainers like the SNAP can provide. If you just aren't sure about taking the plunge try it! You'll be glad you did!

Makes indoor training tolerable

By LarryG

from Glenview, IL, United States

About Me

Comments:

Let's not kid ourselves. At the end of the day, we're still talking about riding indoors. But, the KICKR SNAP does make it tolerable. I'm still not using it as much as I would like. But I've already used it more than my old trainer over the last three years combined. The integration with my ELEMNT is simple and slick. And the interactive features of Zwift have really helped me to get on the trainer. So, while it is still riding indoors on a trainer, the KICKR SNAP has probably made it as exciting as it can possibly be. Thanks to Wahoo for creating a great tool to make indoor training not suck as much as it used to.

Quick Setup. Super quiet and super smooth!

By BradAttitude

from Mechanicsburg, PA

About Me

Comments:

Researched smart trainers in the same price range from several manufacturers and settled on the KICKR Snap for an early Christmas present (Merry Christmas to me!). :) So happy I purchased this. It took mere seconds to set up and putting my rear tire (with included lever from Wahoo) was effortless. My previous (non-smart trainer) always turned into a wrestling match to get the bike back in. The Snap was, ahem, a snap! Pairing with the Wahoo app, Zwift and other cycling apps was incredibly easy. I paired immediately late one evening - figuring it'd take a bit to figure out. It paired so quickly, I couldn't resist getting a quick ride in to get the hang of it. Half an hour later, I came back upstairs full of sweat and smiles! I was concerned about the noise - based on a video review I saw online. The reviewer mentioned that it was much louder on the recording than in real life - and - he was spot on. This is one quiet machine! Incredibly happy with the purchase!

Smooth road feel

By Matt

from Fort Leavenworth, KS

About Me

Comments:

Been biking for years and had several trainers along the way. This is the best trainer I've had to date. Excellent road feel. The first time I set up the trainer I connected my bike computer and raced myself on a ride I had ridden several months ago in another State using the stored GPS data. Awesome.

Comments:

I used to use a Tacx smart vortex- what a mistake that was. Everything is superior with regards to the Wahoo Snap. The app is awesome and it works great with trainer road. Awesome!
